Ok, here's the deal... my job is pretty serious. So, I like to have a little fun in the mornings and on my Metro ride in, I like to read the comics first. I know, it's terrible. My ride in is just perfect for getting through the comics, reading my favorite Post column, and then jumping to the editorial page. So, if you see me on the red line with the comics open, don't assume I'm a simpleton or not intellectually curious or not engaged, I am. I'm just taking a respite. Also, feel free to say hi!
So, in the comics this morning... a shocking revelation in the normally very tame story of a boy and his dog... Red and Rover. (Make sure to look at the Feb. 17 panels.) Two of my favorite strips appear together: Foxtrot includes some characters from Pearls Before Swine. Another favorite is Get Fuzzy. Get Fuzzy, and to a lesser extent PBS, is a strip that requires you to be a reader to see the humor. Much of it is based on character development between Bucky and Satchel (who is, for my money, the best drawn comics character).
